God has called many people to the work of the church. Some ministries we get
to see their workers in action, but people who work tirelessly behind-the-scenes
do some of the ministries that we enjoy the most. There are a variety of ministries
at Albany Baptist that fall into this category. They relate to the day-to-day
operation of our church, the beautification of our facilities, and the transportation
of members and visitors. These ministries are carried out each week and in many
ways help to ensure that the enjoyment of the rest of our ministries is increased.
ADMINISTRATIVE
The weekly church newsletter and other correspondence generate a number of
large mailings each week. Volunteers assist Joe Gaston, the church administrator,
by collating packets, stuffing envelopes, etc. Joe’s vision is to see
several regular volunteers added to this ministry, including someone manage
the phones during Tuesday morning staff meetings.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANCE
This group of volunteers, known as "Double A's", serve as
office aides for the Administrator and Pastors. They serve
Monday through
Thursday
from 9:00
a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

GREETER MINISTRY
Our ushers and greeters are usually the first ministers you meet at Albany
Baptist. They have the responsibility not only to greet members and visitors,
but also to create a welcome feeling for people to prepare to worship. Ushers
and greeters promote the atmosphere of spiritual love for each other while
providing an environment of acceptance for all who walk through the doors of
Albany Baptist.

TRANSPORTATION
Albany Baptist provides transportation for all of our services and special
events. To utilize this ministry, simply call 740-698-3163 and leave a message.
A Transportation Ministry volunteer will return each call to schedule pickups
and drop offs.

GROUNDS
God is the owner of all we see and experience, thus He is the actual owner
of the properties that we claim for our church ministries. Since Man is a steward
of God’s property, we are charged with the maintenance and use of God’s
property that He has given to our church to use for His work.
Understanding that God is the ultimate owner
of this property; that He has entrusted this piece of His creation
to us for use in His ministry; and that its appearance directly
reflects upon Him; The Grounds Ministry diligently work to
ensure Albany Baptist is kept in a way that reflects positively
upon the Lord, and that its appearance brings Him glory and
honor through the church body and even by members of the community.

INTERIOR AND SEASONAL DESIGN
The goal of this ministry is to create an environment that is warm and inviting
to our congregation and guests. God loves beauty, and things that directly
reflect upon Him, He made beautiful. Just as The Grounds Ministry works to
maintain the outside of our church facility, The Interior and Seasonal Design
Ministry works to ensure that the inside of the facility reflects the best
that we have to offer. We realize that the facilities reflect on God because
they represent Him, as well as the people that worship within. As stewards
of His property, we must do all we can to ensure that their appearance properly
reflect His glory and majesty.
